Accessibility Statement

Tarmac roads service all parts of the caravan park and speed ramps are placed around the park – Speed limit on the park is restricted to 5 mph.

Our family operated touring park presents an exclusively adult touring experience; a warm welcome, peaceful location, clean five star facilities and care for the environment and wildlife, gives the Tranquil Park the little luxuries and thoughtful touches that make your stay very special.

Wells is world famous for its stunning Cathedral. For those who wish to visit, historic houses, churches, picturesque towns and villages, the countryside awaits you.

We cater for touring caravans and motor homes, holiday cottages/ lodges for hire and privately owned lodges.

We have an easily accessible website and brochures for holiday home hire and touring pitches. We can post a copy of this access statement if required.

Car Parking and Arrival

Upon arrival, please park to the left hand side and walk round to reception. Please DO NOT block the barrier gate.

Guests with mobility concerns, please pull up at the barrier and press the buzzer. A member of the team will be more than happy to register you from your vehicle. However, access to reception is level tarmac with a ramp to clear width entrance door.

Late arrivals will need to inform reception prior to their arrival and no later than 5pm on their arrival day. A security barrier is on the park entrance and you will not be able to enter the park if we are not informed.

Pre Arrival

Buses

The nearest bus stop is on the park entrance, the time table can be downloaded from the First Group Website. The Service is No.126

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the park.

Wells is within walking distance (1 mile), pavements all the way making it a safe route.

The strawberry line is a clean under foot old railway line; an alternate route to Walk into Wells

A list of taxi companies are available from reception.

Car hire can be arranged at your request.

Lodges and Cottages

The cottages are not wheelchair accessible having a step to the entry door. The cottages have a shower not a bath. Toilet in a separate room. The cottage are fitted with smoke detectors and a fire blanket/extinguisher. Lodges and cottages are strictly non-smoking.

Reception

Wells Touring Park reception welcomes new and regular customers each day and will be happy to assist in making your holiday an enjoyable experience. Please make us aware of any concerns so we can help in any way possible.

Our reception has tourist information leaflets for you to see your local attractions. Travel Information, menus and ice cream for those hot days or a pudding after your evening meal! 

Touring Facilities

Pitches generally level and of generous size. Fire points and drinking water taps are all marked on the site map. Telephone numbers for taxi’s, doctors, vets and emergency are displayed on the notice board.

A bus passes the park entrance which goes both towards the City of Wells and to town of Cheddar, timetables available in reception. The main bus station in Wells you can catch the bus to the beach, Bath, Bristol, Glastonbury, Taunton and many other destinations.

Mobile telephone coverage on the park is generally good. Good satellite signal from the park (no large trees). Wardens live on site and in an emergency can be contacted at any time.

Toilet, laundrette and washing facilities

All main toilets and shower blocks have wide entrance doors and are level throughout. The toilet and shower facilities provided are spacious, well-lit and open 24 hours a day. There is disabled parking at the main toilet block for one car. The path leading to the toilet block is a level concrete path.

There is separate disabled shower and washroom (wet room) facilities compete with shower, sink, and toilet with grab handles. Disabled room is accessible by RADAR key – guests are advised to bring their own. There is one front loading washing machine and one front loading dryer. Ironing board and Iron in the laundrette.

Grounds and Gardens

There are benches placed around the park and a library in the red phone box for your book exchange. Maps of the park are available at Park Reception. The site is well signposted throughout. Please take care not to drive on the grass, we take great pride in keeping the park to a high standard.

Please do not use the park as a dog walk, we are happy to assist you with walking routes. A dog exercise area is opposite reception for those not wishing to walk the dog off the park in the dark. Dog waste bin, located near the entrance of the park. Dog shower for those wishing to keep their caravans, motorhomes, cottages or lodges clean. No more muddy paw prints!

A variety of wildlife around the park to enjoy.

If Emergency services are required please dial 999 and inform them of your plot number, barrier code and if possible for someone to meet them at the barrier to avoid any delay in assisting the patient.
